  Public lecture “Granular Gases: Between Order and Chaos” at the Regiomontanus Observatory

  Dr. Sudeshna Roy was awarded the title of Dr. habil. in the field of “Granular Materials.”

  July 14 – Dr. Sudeshna Roy was awarded the title of Dr. habil. for the subject “Granular Materials.” Her habilitation thesis is entitled “Simulation of Granular Flows: Insights into Additive Manufacturing, Rheology, and Capillary Forces.” The certificate was presented to her by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Kai Willner.July 14 – Dr. Sudeshna Roy was awarded the title of Dr. habil. for the subject “Granular Materials.” Her habilitation thesis is entitled “Simulation of Granular Flows: Insights into Additive Manufacturing, Rheology, and Capillary Forces.” The certificate was presented to her by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Kai Willner.

  We are happy to welcome Paul Scheuerlein as a new PhD student at MSS

  July 1 – Paul Scheuerlein will start his PhD at the MSS. He will be part of the team on the LADA project. In his work, he will use Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) to investigate the simulation of additive manufacturing in zero gravity in order to better understand material deposition and solidification without gravity.  July 1 – Paul Scheuerlein will start his PhD at the MSS.   A team from the MSS was part of the 44th DLR Parabolic Flight Campaign

  June 14 –  the MSS had the special opportunity to take part in the 44th parabolic flight campaign of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) to conduct an innovative experiment under weightlessness. Preparations began with the integration week (June 2-6), during which our experiment was installed and tested on board the research aircraft Airbus A310 ZERO-G.   Federico Tomazic successfully defended his PhD thesis with the title “Particle Self-Assembly into Complex Suprastructures: The Role of Shape and Interaction”
